First Volunteer Orientation of 2015

Posted on Feb 6, 2015 by Nick

You are invited! Our team at Sensible BC is gearing up for another big year. I just wanted to take a minute to invite you to our very first Volunteer Orientation Session of 2015.

If you've been following the news, you’ll know that Stephen Harper and the Conservatives are gaining ground in the run-up to October's general election [1]. That’s a problem.

I don't think I’m giving anything away when I say that this government has taken a big step back on marijuana policy.

They have introduced mandatory minimum sentences, increased the number of marijuana possession charges throughout BC, and have made it harder for medical marijuana users to get their medicine.

This election year is a key time to push back against this government's regressive policies. That’s why Sensible BC is building up and training teams of dedicated volunteers to take action in 2015.

You’ll learn important transferable skills that can help you to activate in your community, on any issue. You’ll also meet some fantastic folks: this movement is chock-a-block with passionate, dedicated, and inspiring people.

The event is being held in Vancouver on February 21st, from 2:00 to 5:00pm.  Click here to RSVP now. We’ll be going over Sensible BC’s strategic plan moving forward, let you know what you can do to help, and answer any questions you may have.

We’re excited. Two dozen people have already signed up, and we’re not surprised - it just goes to show how committed our community is to seeing marijuana policy reform. Click here and RSVP right now.

Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you on February 21st! It won’t be the same without you.
